How do the qualifying events work?

Each qualifier runs a Monster Draw-Your-Partner (DYP) format across 4 rounds of play. Here's what to expect:

  • Spots fill on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 32 registrants secure a spot in the event.
  • In a Monster DYP, you are randomly paired with a different partner each round — so every round you're playing alongside someone new.
  • Individual stats are tracked throughout all 4 rounds on a live leaderboard.
  • The player with the best winning percentage at the end of all rounds advances to the Championship Final.
  • Ties in winning percentage are broken by total points scored.
  • Any remaining ties go to a head-to-head singles match.
  • The full event — all 4 rounds — wraps up in about 3 hours.
9
What is at stake for participants?

Each qualifying tournament is an opportunity to compete, have fun, and develop skills. Win your qualifier and you advance to the Championship Final, where the top 3 finishers earn the following prizes:

  • 1st Place: $5,000 Educational Grant + Xbox Gaming Console + $100 McDonald's Arch Card
  • 2nd Place: $2,000 Educational Grant + Xbox Gaming Console + $100 McDonald's Arch Card
  • 3rd Place: $1,000 Educational Grant + Xbox Gaming Console + $100 McDonald's Arch Card

What is an educational grant?

An educational grant is money awarded to support learning or academic development—and unlike a loan, it does not need to be repaid. It is designed to help remove financial barriers to education.

11
What can the educational grant funds be used for?

The grant is designed to cover costs directly tied to learning and growth, including:

  • Tuition and school fees
  • Books, supplies, and course materials
  • Technology (laptop, software, internet access)
  • Certification programs or vocational training
  • Test prep (SAT, ACT, college entrance exams)
  • Transportation to and from school
  • Study abroad programs
  • Academic camps or summer programs
  • Among others

The issuing organization has oversight of how the funds are dispersed.

12
Will there be a lasting community impact?

Yes. All foosball tables used during the tournament series will be donated to local youth organizations following the conclusion of the program, allowing even more young people to benefit from the game and its developmental opportunities.
